About Us
Our family has been roasting coffee for customer for about 5 or so years and we really enjoy our craft.
You might notice some coffee sites offer 300 or more items, when it comes to coffee, then you will notice we do not on our site.
Question? - "Have you heard the phase "Jack of all Trades and Master of None"
So we stick to what we know and the results are outstanding ratings - year after year and to us roasting a consistent cup of coffee is very important.
We will expand our offering from time to time, but we feel staying true to our goal of roasting a true cup of gourmet coffee roast after roast is very important, thus we feel if we are offering 300 or 400 types of coffee, then we would loose site of our goal, as our shop would just become a place to roast and ship, then the fun would be gone.
Our Signature Blends where are still are being developed to cover a wide range of pallets, as we offer a medium roast with a light body to a beautiful French Roast with no bitter aftertaste, hence we feel very strongly one our signature blends - coffee or espresso - will be the right cup of coffee for you to enjoy day after day.
The Art and Science of Coffee
Look at our Gourmet Blends this way Coffee roasting is considered both an art and a science.
Art
Imagine the neck of a guitar or perhaps the ivories on a piano - ok - now realize there are thousands of notes on both, thus the art of the musician is to choose the right notes to make up a cord which is appealing to the ear, hence our job as coffee roasters is to create a melody in a coffee cup through our blends which is appealing to your sense of
smell and taste.
One last comment about our blends - as with every artist, such as a Van Gogh, Picasso and such, you will notice each has developed their own style, this also holds true with Islandjoe's Coffee, as we strive to offer original blends which are based upon old world traditional blending and roasting disciplines.
Science
Science as art encompasses another large arena. So for us to put it simply, one must have
the whereabouts to to explore the chemistry of each type of coffee bean being used in our gourmet blends.
One of our favorite science parts is our Oxidizier, which keeps us as environmental friendly coffee roasters.
