Nourish your body, mind and spirit at Deer Run.  We are Jen and Harry, your Innkeepers.  Our Caribbean-style home is nestled in lush native trees on the Island of Big Pine.  Located directly on the Atlantic Ocean, on a private, dead end street, 2 miles off the highway, you won't find us unless you're looking.  Big Pine Key is home to the Key Deer, small deer on the endangered species list. We also have something else very rare through the Keys… an actual sandy beach. While you're at Deer Run, you may choose to relax in our lounge chairs, bask in the sun, sit beneath the Dilly and palm trees while watching the Key Deer stroll the beach, or soak in the beachfront spa.

When you're ready for some sights, you can dive Looe Key, fish the flats or charter a boat to fish the Gulfstream. Bahia Honda State Park is only minutes away, and is one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Key West is 30 miles away for active nightlife, museums, live theater, and more. There is something for everyone here in paradise at Deer Run.

Every morning, we serve our guests an innovative total vegetarian breakfast on our screened veranda overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Jen's arrival at Deer Run inspired her to incorporate her vegan lifestyle into the Inn. Jen studied privately with a professional chef to hone her vegetarian cooking skills. Our total vegetarian menu was designed exclusively for Deer Run by a professional chef, with a goal to introduce our vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests alike to delicious cuisine to be savored. Our focus is on fresh and healthy.... breakfasts consist of a daily varying entree', home baked bread or muffins, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and juice. We use as much organic food as possible, cook in only stainless steel cookware, use only non-irradiated organic spices, and exclusively use organic fair trade coffee, tea, cocoa and chocolate.

Deer Run strives to be as eco-friendly as possible, using as many “earth friendly“ products as we can.  Also, guest rooms are stocked with cruelty-free personal products.
