We deal with many customers direct and a few distributors i.e.
Tree of Life distributes to Publix for us, so if you are have a chain of stores and a relationship with TOL, then you may contact them if you wish or if you have a warehouse distribution center, we can ship direct, but we just can not ship to hundreds of locations individually. Then if you are a large chain and do not do business with TOL, we will be happy to work with a distibutor of your choice.
We also enjoy working with small companies and distributors, as our coffee order are custom roasted, which gives you fresher coffee with a longer shelf life.
What does it take to become a Distributor.
1) If you are a distributor already, then you know the process, if not read on.
2) It depends on whom you wish to distribute our coffee to, noting, if it is large supermarket chain, i.e. Publix, Albertson etc, then there is paper work and insurance, which must be in place.
3) If you looking to distribute to hotels, coffee shops etc, then you will still need insurance, which names IJS as an insured and you will have to fill out our hold harmless form.
4) You will have to purchase coffee to have it in stock, starting small is fine, but you will need to keep inventory on hand.
5) Another way around all this is to act as a food broker for us, which pay 5% of sales or 5% of our selling price i.e. if we sell a bag of coffee to one of your source for $6.50, then you would be made .32 cents, minus shipping cost i.e If we shipped 72 bags to New York from Key West, the UPS cost for shipping would be around $35, then if the cost to your customer was $6.50 per bag, the math would go this way. 72 bags x $6.50 = $468.00 - $35 (shipping), so you would net ($468-35) x .05 = $21.65. Keep in mind coffee in a volume business.
