How to Make Ice Coffee
It is hot is old town Key West and people love their coffee, thus there is nothing like a cup of iced coffee created from fresh roasted coffee beans to cool down your day and keep you going.
Here is how we do it at Island Joe's Coffee.
We begin with our 90 Mile Stretch Espresso - Why? Because this roast profile which is created by blending coffee beans from four differnet coffee regions offers a wonderful taste, noting its natural sweetnesss - you might consider this blend sweet or unsweeten tea - it that good.
Now, grind to an Espresso Grind. This finer grind will extract an more intense flavor during the brewing process, which in turn will keep your ice coffee from tasting watered down.
Now brew brew 68oz of water over 2.5oz of your ground beans. You will loose about 4oz or so durng the brew process.
Let stand to cool to room temperature.
Pour your brew into a tea picture and place in the refrigerator. Your brew should stay fresh 3 days or so, keep covered, as this will keep your brew from asborbing other smells.
To serve, again, treat your brew as ice tea. Pour over ice, sweeten with sugar, plus add milk if you wish, basically, flavor to your taste.
What you have created is a wonderful refreshing, pick me up ice drink.
