22 Count - E S E Espresso Pods from Island Joes Coffee
Single Serve (7 grams each) Espresso Pods 90 Mile Stretch
E.S.E. Espresso Pods from our 90 Mile Stretch which was rated 91 out of 100 by CoffeeReview.com.
Notes for CoffeeReview.com: ESE (Easy Serving Espresso) pods are wafer-like single-serving sized portions of ground espresso coffee compressed and enclosed in filter paper. Any company that has access to the proper machinery can produce them. Although "pod adaptors" are available for many home espresso machines, ESE pods seem to produce best results when used on home machines exclusively designed for them. We tested this set of sample pods on the pod-only FrancisFrancis! X6 Trio home espresso machine, which allows for some control of extraction rate by how firmly the pod-bearing portafilter is tightened into the machine. We evaluated this espresso at a 26-second extraction for a one-ounce serving.
Blind Assessment: Produced from an ESE pod on a FrancisFrancis! pod brewer. Sweet, juicy-impressioned fruit dominates in the aroma (papaya? cherry?) with a hints of fir and leather. Syrupy mouthfeel and great richness and depth of sensation in the small cup, with continued low-acid fruit and fresh-cut fir notes. Superb finish: long, deep. In two parts milk good presence and chocolate-toned fruit, though just a touch flat and woody.

"On the other hand, the two blends from small American specialty roasters, the Island Joe's 90 Mile Stretch Espresso (91) and the Supreme Bean (88) were both impressive, in part perhaps because they were fresher than their overseas counterparts. The Island Joe's in particular stood out. The grind in the pod was perfect, netting a 26-second shot with all the fundamental sensory virtues of a fine straight espresso: viscous mouthfeel, natural sweetness, great depth of sensation. However, how much of this success was owing to the fact that the pod was fresh, perhaps only a week or two past grinding and packaging? Espresso beans straight out of the roaster are far too volatile and seething with off-gassing of carbon dioxide to make good espresso, but once the espresso is ground and packaged I strongly suspect that sooner is better for consumption." I'm superbly impressed. Island Joes is smooth, and the quality is as good as a great barista in your house. It's definitely one of the better <a href="http://www.espresso-pod.net>espresso pods</a> on the market.

Good morning Joe & family,
Just wanted to give you an update on your most excellent pods.
I have already placed my order for a 2nd 100 pods a couple of days
ago, since I find them clearly much more enjoyable vs Illy - as well
as the other 20 some odd pods from various companies I have tried over
the past year or so. I also brought a few pods to my local cigar
store (which offers espresso via ESE). They are, unfortunately, still
rather heavily stocked with their Illy pods (from a purchase of a
machine through Illy), but will definitely switch to you when their
present supply runs down. They were very impressed with your product
(and the $). Their comments centered around "freshness". Keep up the
great work. Thanks.

Hi Joe,
I got your pods only 2 days after I ordered them! Thanks so much. I agree that they are smoother vs. Illy. They don't seem to have the bitter aftertaste that Illy pods do, and there is more flavor too & better crema. Do you medium, dark, or peak roast them? Great job! Thanks again
